After the incident, a memorial for the victims was built in Eucla, and the
two children were taken there. According to local legend an unidentified
woman wearing a long, black robe would show up at memorial day at
crash site every year and place flowers on children’s graves. By this time,
word had spread about appearances, so members of media showed up
in Eucla on that day. When they tried to approach the mystery woman
one year, she disappeared and has not been seen ever.
